Anxiety is not a disease!
Anxiety can affect you both mentally and physically, but it is not a disease. The symptoms and severity differ from person to person, you may have only one or two symptoms whilst another person may suffer from many more.
Anxiety is normal isn’t it?
Most people have some level of anxiety and cope with life really well, it’s when anxiety starts to affect the way you live that something needs to be done about it.
Anxiety can cause a change in the way you behave, the way you feel and think about things. If you have any of the following symptoms then it may be time to take action:
Psychological symptoms of Anxiety
1. General restlessness
2.A feeling or sense of dread.
3. Constantly feeling “on edge”
4. Having difficulty in concentrating.
5. Feeling irritable.
Physical symptoms of Anxiety
3. Feeling sick.
4. Trembling and/or shaking.
6. Panic attacks.
These anxious feelings can cause you to withdraw from social contact and even take time off work, and these actions can cause the symptoms to increase and make you worry even more.
What causes Anxiety?
If you suffer with a specific fear or phobia then the cause is usually quite apparent. i.e being in a confined space makes you feel claustrophobic.
If you just feel anxious in general about most things then you may not know the cause of your anxiety, not knowing what causes the anxious feeling can intensify them, and you may start to worry that there is no way to stop the anxiety, thus entering into a vicious circle of worry and anxious thoughts.
What can be done to relieve it?
There are many ways to help you with your anxiety, one of the most effective is hypnotherapy.
